WATCH: Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja sees crores in donations on Ganeshotsav Day 1

Mumbai: India’s financial capital witnessed an extraordinary display of faith and generosity today as thousands of devotees flocked to the city’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja. The first donation box at the pandal revealed contributions ranging from American dollars and gold jewellery to crores of rupees, reflecting the deep devotion of those who had queued for hours to make their offerings.

For many, visiting Lalbaugcha Raja is far more than a ritual; it is a personal gesture of gratitude, a plea for blessings, and an expression of unwavering faith. From the early hours of the morning, devotees arrived clutching notes, coins, and tokens of love, ready to place them in the donation box.

Pandal transformed into spiritual havan

This year’s pandal has been transformed into a spiritual haven. The theme features intricate decorations, grand architecture, and a sense of regal divinity, designed to embody hope and revival. Volunteers, medical stations, and crowd-control teams have been deployed to ensure smooth movement and the safety of devotees throughout the site.

Thousands lined the streets, patiently waiting for their turn to catch a glimpse of the revered idol. The queues, stretching for kilometres through narrow lanes and specially arranged waiting areas, have become an annual pilgrimage, capturing the essence of devotion. Social media has been flooded with videos showcasing the patience, emotion, and dedication of those who sometimes wait for more than 20 hours to stand before the idol.

Multiple celebrity visits scheduled for today

The pandal is also expected to welcome several high-profile visitors. Actor Siddharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor are scheduled for darshan at noon, while the family of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar may also make an appearance.
