New Delhi: England’s victorious women’s team recieved a rapturous welcome from thousands of fans and some special guests following the historic Euro 2025 win. The Lionesses were welcomed by a sea of fans, who celebrated the nation’s second successive title in London on Tuesday in a homecoming to remember for the coach, Sarina Wiegman and her players.
The historymakers were led by a marching band along the Mall, and the celebrations continued on stage in the presence of music stars Burna Boy and Heather Small in front of Buckingham Palace.

“I was crying all the way down The Mall. This is unbelievable. This is probably one of the best things we’ve ever been a part of,” said Captain Leah Williamson, who was visibly emotional.
The Lionesses scripted history by defending their European crown against Spain in Switzerland and became the first England team to win a major tournament on foreign soil.
Fans throng London streets to welcome Lionesses
The team members and support staff arrived on two open-top buses with “Champions” emblazoned on them and celebrated the landmark achievement with close to 65000 fans who, wearing face paint and waving flags, had thronged the streets to welcome their heroes.
“We didn’t really know what to expect coming into it today, but everyone was so excited on the bus and it was so nice to come back to England and celebrate with our fans,” said Alessia Russo, who scored the leveller in the final, which ended 1-1 after extra time.
“It’s just a bit surreal. It’s crazy to see this many people come out in the home of England, in London, heading up to Buckingham Palace, I’d never have dreamt of anything like it.”
The central band of the Royal Air Force set the tone by playing England football anthems “Three Lions” and “Sweet Caroline” before African star Burna Boy gave a big surprise to her Dutch fan Wiegman.
