[Watch] ENG vs IND 2025: Gill reveals hilarious truth behind Siraj’s ‘Nahi bataya tu’ remark after Jurel missed run-out

Mohammed Siraj and Shubman Gill revealed the hilarious truth behind Chris Woakes’ missed run-out opportunity which left Siraj fuming at Dhruv Jurel on the final day of the fifth Test at The Oval.

Siraj had a frustrated look on his face after the wicketkeeper failed to hit the stumps as Gus Atkinson and Woakes stole a bye.

Gill told at the press conference that before he could share his and Siraj’s plan of bowling a wide yorker, the pacer started running in to bowl. Hence, Gill could not communicate the plan to Jurel. After Siraj was done glaring at Jurel for the slip-up, he looked towards Gill and asked him “Nahi bola tu? (you didn’t tell him?)”.

Although Siraj and the skipper were amused by what went down, it surely was not the case when the event took place. However, it did not cost the team as India eventually won the thriller by a six-run margin, with Siraj dismissing Atkinson. The speedster ended up with career-best match figures of 9/190 (4/86 and 5/104).

The Indian team was able to retain the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy successfully. While Gill emerged as the leading run-getter of the series (754 runs in 10 innings), Siraj wrapped up by leading the wickets column by scalping 23 wickets in nine innings.
