During the four-day Emerging Test between hosts Bangladesh and in Dhaka, players Tshepo Ntuli and Ripon Mondol got into a heated scuffle with each other, which became physical all of a sudden in the middle of the pitch.
Both the on-field umpires rushed into action to stop the youngsters from taking their issues to a whole new level before their respective team members also came into the picture.
As per the report from ESPNcricinfo, the incident happened after Ripon Mondol, who was batting at the time, hit a six on the bowling of Tshepo Ntuli straight down the ground. When he walked towards his non-striking partner Mehidy Hasan, there was an apparent glance between him and Ntuli before the latter charged at him with purpose before they exchanged words with each other.

After that, these two emerging players got physical as Ntuli pulled the helmet of Ripon before one of the on-field umpires came in between to separate them, but still Ntuli tugged at his helmet once more. The members of South African Emerging Team were apparently also charging Ripon Mondol, and the entire ordeal was vehemently criticised by the commentators on the broadcast.
The match referee is set to submit reports of incident to BCB and CSA
Nabil Kaiser was quoted as saying on commentary, ‘This is extreme, this is unacceptable. Normally we see verbal altercations in a cricket field but we don’t often see a scuffle. Ntuli struck Ripon’s helmet at one point.’ Moreover, as of this writing, there has been no action taken against the players involved in the heated scuffle since the protocol demands the on-field umpires to submit an official report about it before announcing any sanctions.
Furthermore, the match referee is set to submit reports of the incident to the BCB and CSA, who are going to take action against the players.
