Was Dhanush, Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishk Mein Supposed To Be Raanjhanaa 2? Priyanshu Painyuli BREAKS Silence

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishk Mein is working well at the box office. Despite mixed reactions, the film is now inching closer to crossing Rs 100 crore at the ticket window.

Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film featured a dialogue that reminded fans of Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s Raanjhanaa. Now, in an interview, Priyanshu Painyuli has revealed whether the film was supposed to be Raanjhanaa 2.

Priyanshu Painyuli on Tere Ishk Mein

Speaking to India Today, Priyanshu clarified that Tere Ishk Mein was supposed to be a totally different film. “They are taking it to the next level. It’s not a multiverse, but it’s like the world continues. You see a totally different Chandan in Raanjhanaa, played by Dhanush. His character Shankar in Tere Ishk Mein is completely different. The way he acts, the way he responds, and the way his family is very different. These are two different worlds,” he said.

He further spoke about Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub’s dialogue that reminded fans of Raanjhanaa. Reacting to it, the actor revealed that the scene was for the fans and all those who loved Dhanush and Sonam’s film. “The reference is more like a nostalgic callback for fans of Raanjhanaa, a little trip down memory lane,” added Priyanshu.

Priyanshu Painyuli on bond with Dhanush

Continuing the chat, Priyanshu reflected on his bond with Dhansush. The actor revealed that his co-star is a gem of a person. “I always tell younger actors that to be a good actor, you have to be a good human being. People who work around you have to enjoy working with you, and he’s exactly that. He’s simple, down-to-earth and sweet,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Tere Ishk Mein will premiere on Netflix after its theatrical run ends. That said, the official OTT release date of the film is not announced yet.
