Samajwadi Party has considered this blocking as a serious political conspiracy. Party spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand said, “Suspending the Facebook account of the national president of the country’s third largest party is an attack on democracy. The BJP government has imposed an undeclared emergency, where every opposition voice is being suppressed.” He also said that SP will continue its fight against anti-people policies.
Government panel clearly denied
A government official clarified that the Facebook account block action was taken entirely as per Facebook’s internal policies and there is no interference from the government or any government entity. He said that Facebook strictly monitors violent, obscene or objectionable content on its platform and takes action accordingly.
