Warriors Reveal Unexpected Al Horford Injury Update Before Nuggets Clash

The Golden State Warriors hoped that consistency with a core that included Jimmy Butler in February would be sufficient for improvement, so they did not have many significant new signings to brag about this summer.

In order to strengthen the team’s frontcourt with great defense and floor-stretching skills, they made their largest acquisition when they signed former NBA Champion Al Horford.

Horford, 39, may not be able to sustain a high workload for an 82-game season, but when he does play, he can contribute valuable minutes. He has gradually adjusted to the Warriors’ unique offensive style, averaging 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds thus far this season.

With Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry missing Wednesday’s 116-121 loss to the Sacramento Kings, the team has had a mediocre start to the season and is currently 5-4. With Butler doubtful for their upcoming game and Curry out, the team needs all the support it can get.

Sadly, Horford’s transition into the team’s offence has been halted since the Warriors included Horford on their Friday afternoon injury report, even though there was no prior indication that the big man had an injury.

Due to left foot pain, Horford is officially listed as questionable for tonight’s NBA Cup game against the Denver Nuggets at 10 p.m. ET.

While Curry and De’Anthony Melton (knee) are the only players officially ruled out, Horford joins Butler on a questionable basis. Given Horford’s possible absence, Draymond Green’s availability is even more crucial, as he is listed as likely to play.
