Roads of 557 including three NHs are closed in the state. There are 160 roads in Kullu while 213 roads are closed in Mandi. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain more than rain in different parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Orange alert in these districts
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alenging of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in different parts of Una, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. At the same time, a yellow alert of heavy rain has been issued in various parts of Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Shimla, Solan, Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh.
Orange alert in these districts on 31 August
The Meteorological Department says that tomorrow i.e. on August 31, the weather will be bad in many parts of Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rainfall in different parts of Chamba, Kangra and Kullu districts on 31 August. At the same time, rain is expected in Mandi, Shimla, Solan and parts of Sirmaur districts. Yellow alert has been issued regarding this.
First and 2 September yellow alert
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will be bad in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi and Shimla districts on September 1. Yellow alert of strong rain has been issued in different parts of these districts. According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of rain in the state will decrease from September 2. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of strong rain with thunderstorms in different parts of Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts on 2 September.
Chamba’s Chuari is the highest rainfall
In the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall was recorded in many districts. Chamba’s Chuadi received the highest 100 mm of rain. Apart from this, Jogindernagar recorded 90-70 in Rampur Bushahar and Dharamshala 70-70, Shimla, Katuala, Nahan and Palampur 60-60 in Sarahan, while 40-40 mm in Gohar, Shilaru, Kangra and Narkanda. Shimla continued to rain throughout the day on Saturday, affecting life.
839 roads closed
Road traffic in the state is severely affected by heavy rains and landslides. According to the State Emergency Operations Center, three national highways and 839 roads remained closed till Saturday evening. Of these, 286 roads are closed in Chamba alone, 197 in Mandi, 175 in Kullu, 61 in Kangra, 38 in Sirmaur and 28 in Shimla. Two in Kullu and one national highway in Mandi district is stalled. Electricity and water supply is also crumbled.
Drinking water schemes affected
728 power transformers and 456 drinking water schemes have been closed in Himachal Pradesh. 363 transformers are stalled in Chamba, 225 in Kullu and 123 in Mandi, while 212 in Kangra, 93 in Chamba, 56 in Mandi, 56 in Mandi, 52 in Shimla and 39 in Kullu. In Mandi district, on Friday night, a cloudburst in the Katwari drain of Nandi Panchayat of Gohar police station area came to an influx.
Heavy debris on the road due to landslides
It damaged four shops, one car and one industry. The cut stone industry was completely destroyed, although there was no loss of any kind. Similarly, on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, a landslide near Khotinala caused heavy debris on the road. Due to the vigilance of the police, vehicles were stopped in time and a big accident was averted, but the reinstatement of the highway could take time.
Five houses damaged in Rampur in Shimla district
Five houses were damaged due to landslides at two places in Rampur in Shimla district. The houses of Tulsi Das, Lekhraj and Harish Kumar were damaged in the village Sheel Prog. Gopi Chand and Pyare Lal’s houses fell in village Thala. In this accident, Pyare Lal and his son Hemant were injured who were rushed to the hospital.
Thousands trapped
Meanwhile, the devotees who went on the Manimahesh Yatra in Chamba district were evacuated through relief and rescue operations. Thousands of people were stranded due to bad weather, which the local people and administration together brought to safe places.
320 people died
According to the report of the State Emergency Operations Center, 320 people have died during the monsoon season so far. These include 51 in Mandi, 49 in Kangra, 36 in Chamba, 29 in Shimla, 28-28 in Kullu and Kinnaur. So far 4041 houses have been damaged, with 824 completely collapsed. 1592 houses were damaged in Mandi alone, out of which 517 houses fell completely.
467 shops and 3646 cattle sheds destroyed
Apart from this, 467 shops and 3646 animals have been destroyed in the state. Himachal Pradesh has lost assets worth Rs 3042 crore from monsoon so far. In this, there has been a loss of 1693 crore to the Public Works Department, 1070 crore to the Water Power Department and Rs 139 crore to the Energy Department. So far, 93 landslides, 91 flash floods and 45 cloudburst have been reported in the state.
