War 2 opens at Rs. 82 crores worldwide; NTR Jr. fails to surpass Game Changer despite Hrithik Roshan’s presence

While the Hindi version has won the battle against Telugu, what’s surprising is that the first day collections of War 2 are lower than a dud like Game Changer starrer Mega Powerstar Ram Charan.

The Shankar directorial, after so many delays and content issues, opened at Rs. 95 crores across the world, whereas War 2 has barely hit the Rs. 80 crore mark on the first day.

NTR Jr. and Ram Charan are among the key competitors in the Telugu market, and with War 2, NTR Jr. has failed to surpass Charan’s first-day despite having additional support in the form of Hrithik Roshan. If we exclude the Hindi business, the first day of the Telugu version is barely Rs. 35 crores at the worldwide box office, whereas the Hindi version has earned around Rs. 45 crores globally.

The film has started to show cracks in Telugu belts, whereas in overseas, for Telugu, it is also curtains down on the second day.
