WAR 2 Crashes Badly on Janmashtami: Unprecedented!

The worrying factor is the trend. A film mounted on this scale should have shown stronger momentum after its first day. Instead, the drop clearly indicates that the content has not connected with the audience.

Despite a major holiday, the numbers suggest fading interest.

The three-day collections for the Hindi version stand at Rs. 100 crore net. Thursday opened with Rs. 29 crore, Independence Day brought in Rs. 45 crore, and Janmashtami dropped heavily to Rs. 26 crore. The downward slide on a holiday has raised alarm over its long-term run.

In contrast, Coolie is performing much better in its strong markets. The Hindi version earned about Rs. 14 crore net, which is weak, but the total across languages has reached Rs. 150 crore net. Tamil Nadu leads with Rs. 62 crore in three days, followed by Nizam and Andhra at Rs. 35 crore, Mysore at Rs. 20 crore, and Kerala at Rs. 15 crore. Even in Hindi belts, the Tamil version has brought in around Rs. 4 crore.

While has managed to meet expectations in regional markets, War 2 is struggling to sustain. For a Rs. 400 crore spectacle from the YRF Spy Universe, this start is worrying. Unless weekday collections show unusual steadiness, the film risks turning into a major disaster.
