After launching the Tayron R Line in the country, has just introduced the Tayron Life, which is a more affordable and a 5-seater version of Tayron R Line on sale in India. The launch price of VW Tayron Life is Rs 41.99 lakh (Ex-sh) and it is expected to offer a distinct mobility experience to buyers.
VW Tayron Life Launch
Positioned below the Tayron R Line, the just launched VW Tayron Life costs Rs 5 lakh less. For context, Tayron R Line is priced at Rs 46.99 lakh (Ex-sh), while Tayron Life costs Rs 41.99 lakh (Ex-sh). It is VW India’s second locally assembled vehicle for our market after Tayron R Line and it brings a more sober aesthetics.
When compared to Tayron R Line, Tayron Life is slightly less sporty and we can see this effect with smaller 18-inch alloy wheels, when compared to R Line’s 19-inchers. Because R Line has distinct bumpers and body work, Tayron Life has slightly smaller dimensions too. Length is same, while width is 1,853 mm (13 mm narrower) and Tayron Life is 1 mm taller at 1,666 mm.
Wheelbase is the same at 2,789 mm, while the boot capacity completely changes because Tayron Life is a 5-seater only, packing 885L boot as standard, which can be further expanded to 2,090L. The R badges seen with R Line are missing in Tayron Life and interior is a dual-tone affair, which should feel more welcoming to prospective buyers.
Features and Equipment
In terms of equipment, there are a few omissions in Tayron Life, when compared to which costs Rs 5 lakh more (Ex-sh). The infotainment screen is a smaller 12.9-inch unit mated to an 8-speaker setup, as opposed to 15-inch screen mated to 11-speaker Harman system in R Line. Ambient lighting loses 20 colour options down to 10 colours.
Other omissions include IQ.LIGHT HD Matrix headlights, anodized effect roof rails and 360-degree surround cameras in favour of reversing cameras. Powertrain remains the same, though. This 2.0L TSI engine is rated at 201 bhp and 320 Nm, mated to 7-speed DSG and AWD setup.
