Volkswagen is revving up to launch its new SUV in the Indian market. The German carmaker launched the Tiguan R Line and Golf GTI recently and is now planning to roll out the Volkswagen Tayron SUV in the country.
The three-row SUV has been snapped testing undisguised on the Indian roads, hinting at its launch to be slotted soon. Upon arrival, the Tayron will rival the Jeep Meridian and is likely to be locally assembled at the SAVWIPL facility in Chattrapati Sambhaji Nagar, like the Skoda Kodiaq.
Volkswagen Tayron: Exterior Expected
The test mule of the Volkswagen Tayron was spotted without camouflage, revealing some major highlights of the exterior of the SUV. Regarding the design details, the Volkswagen Tayron seems to borrow inspiration from the previously launched Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line. However, it does feature distinct designs for the headlights, bumpers, and taillights, distinguishing it from the Tiguan R-Line. The upcoming Tayron SUV will be based on the brand’s MQB EVO platform, as per the international spec model. Also, the spy shots suggest that the Tayron gets an R-badging, hinting that the brand will bring the Tayron R-Line to the Indian market.
