NCERT issued a special module on Swadeshi. Students will learn the historical journey of Indian products, innovations and indigenous movement through Vocal for Local, Self -reliant India and Make in India. This step in education will increase awareness.
Ncert swadeshi module: NCERT has recently released two special modules focused on indigenous. These modules have shown the entire visit from 1905 to the indigenous movement from 1905 and the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s self -sufficient India. On Independence Day this year, Prime Minister Modi described the self -sufficient India as the basis of developed India from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
What is the purpose of NCERT indigenous module?
The purpose of these modules is to make students aware of Indian products, innovation and indigenous culture. Especially through Wocal for Local, children will know Indian products and develop an understanding of promoting local businesses. The Prime Minister also asked the teachers to take part in the promotion of indigenous products and the campaign of Make in India along with the students.
Start of Swadeshi Movement: Was it the biggest weapon of India’s independence?
The module states that the indigenous movement began in 1905 during the freedom struggle of India, when the British divided Bengal. At this time, the slogan of Swadeshi appealed to the people to boycott foreign goods and adopt Indian products. It was not only opposed to foreign goods, but also aimed to create an Indian option and promote self -reliance.
Indigenous in modern India: Will students get the story of space, defense and health?
Today’s module also highlights the modern form of Swadeshi. It shows India’s achievements in the space, defense and health sector. Also, programs like Make in India, Startup India, Digital India and Wocal for Local run by the NDA government have been explained in simple language for students. Examples of Vietnam and Israel are also given in the module, so that students understand the importance of strategic and economic self -sufficiency.
Credit of Swadeshi Movement: Was Baba Ram Singh ignored?
Former Rajya Sabha member Tarlochan Singh has written a letter to NCERT and suggested that the credit for starting the indigenous movement should be given to Baba Ram Singh. Baba Ram Singh started the Kuka movement in 1857 and called for boycotting British goods, adopting indigenous products and promoting social reforms such as vegetarianism and widow marriage.

The biggest message of NCERT module is that students can not only promote their village and city businesses by adopting the concept of Vocal for Local and Self -reliant India, but can also help in strengthening the country economically and socially. Teachers and students together will learn the importance of local products and innovations and spread this awareness in their community.
