Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting India on 4 December. He will meet PM Modi and participate in the 23rd India-Russia summit. Trade, S-500 system and RELOS agreement are expected to be discussed during this visit.
Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting India on a two-day visit on December 4. During this, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and participate in the 23rd India-Russia annual summit to be held in the capital Delhi. Speaking at a conference of VTB, Russia’s second-largest bank, President Putin announced that he and Prime Minister Modi will meet soon and discuss in detail trade and imports with India.
He said Russia would continue its “independent economic policy” that looks after only its own interests. He also said that Russia’s trade with India and China has increased significantly in the last three years.
tough stance on Europe
“If Europe wants war, we are ready now,” Putin said, targeting Europe. He said that European countries now have “no plan for peace” but are instead promoting war.
blame western countries
Speaking at the VTB Investment Forum, Putin said the world today was going through a period of “great turmoil” as some countries used their “unilateral influence” to exert pressure on others. He alleged that Western countries want to “end competition” with the world. Putin said, ‘They are failing in this and will continue to fail in the future.’
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India again after almost four years. This time his visit is scheduled for December 4 and 5, 2025. He last visited India on December 6, 2021, when he came to Delhi to attend the 21st India-Russia Annual Summit. After that, the Russia-Ukraine war started and the international situation changed significantly. Because of this, Putin was not able to visit India for the last four years. Now it is expected that his visit will give new strength to the relations between the two countries.
Big message on ‘Sudarshan Chakra’
How important this visit of President Vladimir Putin is can be gauged from the fact that with the friendship between India and Russia, India can now get strength like “Sudarshan Chakra”, which is a protective shield that protects the country from every aerial threat. This year, on Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised from the Red Fort that by 2035, India will have such an “impenetrable security shield” which no air attack will be able to penetrate.
Important decision on S-500
Now, a big step can be taken in that direction during this tour. India had signed a deal with Russia for five S-400 air defense systems, three of which have been delivered. But now, the talks are going a step further and there may also be talks on the purchase of S-500 systems. It is also expected that the S-500, one of the world’s most advanced air defense systems, will be discussed. If this deal goes through, India’s dream of building its own air defense network by 2035 will become even stronger.
Relos Agreement in the Russian Parliament
Ahead of Putin’s visit, the Russian Parliament is set to approve a deal that is being called a “game-changer” between the two countries. This is called RELOS or Reciprocating Logistics Agreement. This agreement will allow the armies of India and Russia to use each other’s facilities whenever needed, be it for refueling, repair or use of bases.
