Ramayana Movie Update: Vivek Oberoi will also have an important role in director Nitish Tiwari’s film ‘Ramayanam’ along with actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash. In a recent conversation, Vivek talked about his upcoming film. According to them, producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari are taking Indian cinema to the world level through this film. Also, ‘Ramayanam’ will prove to be India’s answer to the epic films being made in Hollywood. During this, he also talked about his fees.
‘Ramayanam’ will be India’s answer to Hollywood: Vivek Oberoi
Vivek Oberoi told Hindustan Times, “Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari’s film ‘Ramayanam’ is going to be India’s answer to Hollywood epic films. It will help because they are associated with a company which has won around 7-8 Oscars in VFX. And they have created such iconic material before too. ‘Ramayanam’ as a true epic with Indian roots. “Nothing can be bigger or better and taking it global is really exciting.”
What did Vivek Oberoi say about the fees for Ramayanam?
According to Vivek Oberoi, he has donated the fees received for ‘Ramayanam’ to a noble cause. According to Vivek, “I told Namit that I don’t want a single penny for this film. I want to donate it to a cause that I believe in, that is, for children suffering from cancer. I told him that I want to support you because I like your work. I think it will take Indian cinema to the world stage in a big way.”
Shooting of Vivek Oberoi’s part is yet to be completed.
During this, Vivek shared his experience from the sets of the film. He said, “There is a debate about ‘Ramayanam’ whether it is mythological or historical. We believe that it is historical and it was good to work on it. I was very happy and had a lot of fun working with the entire crew Namit, Nitesh, Yash, Rakul Preet Singh. I still have a few days of shooting left.”
When will ‘Ramayanam’, which is being made in two parts, be released?
‘Ramayanam’ is being produced in two parts. The first part will be released on Diwali in 2026 and the second part will be released on Diwali in 2027. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi in the role of Mother Sita, Yash in the role of Ravana, Vivek Oberoi in the role of Vibhishan and Rakul Preet Singh in the role of Surpanakha, actors like Ravi Dubey in the role of Laxman, Sunny Deol in the role of Hanuman, Lara Dutta in the role of Kaikeyi and Arun Govil in the role of Dasharatha will also be seen.
