The puja begins with a vow (sankalp) and invocation of the deity. Essential items for the ritual include rice grains (akshat), flowers, sandalwood paste, vermilion, incense sticks, a lamp, fruits, sweets and panchamrit (a mix of milk, curd, ghee, honey and Ganga water).

Offer flowers, sandalwood and vermilion to Lord Vishwakarma.

Apply a tilak on tools, machines and equipment, and place flowers on them.

Perform an aarti of the deity while chanting the mantra: “Om Shri Vishwakarmane Namah”. Finally, distribute the prasad among family members, colleagues and workers.
