Virat Kohli summoned by BCCI to India, if he wants to play Australia series, he should..

After Rohit Sharma, Indian veteran Virat Kohli has also supposedly been called by the BCCI, urging him to make himself available for a series of fitness Tests before India can opt for any decisions ahead of the selections for the white-ball series in Australia.

Indian stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have had several doubts imposed on the fate of their One-Day careers, especially since they have announced their retirement from the Test format ahead of the England series.

The two players have been likely reported to be eyeing the ODI World Cup 2027, which is too far-sighted due to the growing age of the two Indian veterans. The BCCI is considering alternatives and has hence imposed some strict rules on the legends.

Virat Kohli summoned to the BCCI Centre of Excellence

Indian legendary batter Virat Kohli, often known for his fitness regime and startling agility, would also have to undergo a series of tests, which also include the Yo-Yo test, before he decides to feature for India in the white-ball series in Australia.

“If Virat Kohli wants himself to be considered for the Australia series, he will have to undergo these tests at the BCCI Centre of Excellence,” claimed Rohit Juglan on his YouTube channel.

“The physios, strength and conditioning coaches and others at the BCCI CoE are appointed with the key role to keep every Centrally contracted Indian player fit and ready for selections ahead of any tournament or bilateral series.”

“These tests are conducted after players have kept out of international cricket for a considerable period of time, or they have come out of a long series like the one in England and then have gone into a resting phase for a long time. No player featuring in back-to-back games is subjected to such tests,” Juglan concluded.

Rohit Sharma to undergo Tests, including Yo-Yo, ahead of the Australia tour

Rohit Sharma, the Indian ODI skipper, has not played international cricket since the Champions Trophy and last played the game itself back in the IPL. However, with rumours swirling around a retirement after the Australia tour, the Indian veteran is working hard on his fitness.

As per the reports from RevSportz journalist Rohit Juglan, both Rohit Sharma and even the opener KL Rahul, who featured in the England series, will be undergoing the Yo-Yo test on the 30th or 31st of August at the BCCI’s CoE.

Rohit and Virat are expected to star in the Australia ODIs

Though there was never a doubt about the continuation of Virat Kohli for the Indian team, his name often rose under doubts for retirement alongside Rohit Sharma. This is because they have announced their T20 and Test retirement together and have both shown convincing form in the ODI tournaments.

Having been out of the field for a long time, Rohit, to shake the rust off, has announced that he will be featured in the India A matches against Australia A, which will be held from the 30th of September.

The teams for the Australia white-ball tour can be expected to be released in the last week of September, as the Australia tour will begin on the 14th of October. The three ODIs have been scheduled to be played from the 19th to the 25th of October.
