Legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli returned to action with the India team in the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series against the West Indies.
Kohli has surpassed former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin’s record of 43 games to become India’s most-capped player in ODIs against the Windies after being included in the starting lineup for the first game of the series. On Sunday, September 27, Kohli will play his 44th one-day encounter against the Men in Maroon in the first ODI between India and the West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Former Pakistani captains Javed Miandad and Wasim Akram hold the record for playing the most ODIs against the West Indies. Against the Caribbean team, Akram and Miandad each participated in 64 ODIs. Kohli will have the opportunity to make history in his 44th ODI encounter against the West Indies.
