Virat Kohli Creates History, Becomes Joint-Fastest Batter To…

Virat Kohli played the first two Elite Group D matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 for Delhi and registered scores of 131 and 61. He slammed 131 from 101 balls as a No. 3 batter for the Rishabh Pant-led side in their 299-run chase against Andhra Pradesh at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence on December 24. And on Friday (December 26), when Delhi were invited to bat first by Gujarat skipper Chintan Gaja at BCCI’s CoE, Kohli made 77 from 61 balls.

During his stay at the crease against Gujarat in the match that Delhi won by 7 runs, Virat slammed 13 fours and 1 six and also completed 1000 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Kohli to play vs Railways

Kohli missed Delhi’s third Elite Group D match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Monday (December 29) against Saurashtra in Alur, but he will be back for the team’s sixth group match against Railways.

The match between Delhi and Railways will be played on January 6, 2026, in Bengaluru.

The news of Kohli’s presence for the Delhi-Railways match was confirmed to news agency PTI by Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley on Monday.
