is set to lock horns with the West Indies in the white-ball series. The series will kick off from September 27, which will see both teams competing against each other in three ODIs and five T20I matches.
Ahead of the ODI series, West Indies’ cricketer Jason Holder heaped praise on Team India’s superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He said that Kohli is one of the best batsmen to ever play the game.
“When you look at Virat, he is arguably the best player, the best one-day batsman to ever play the game, and one of the best batters to ever play the game,” he said on JioStar.
Speaking about Rohit, the all-rounder then said that he has done really well against the Caribbean side.
“Rohit, when you look at his outstanding one-day record, particularly against as well, he’s done really well. So, the two stalwarts of Indian cricket and world cricket pack a heavy punch,” said Holder.
The 34-year-old cricketer then said that he would also put Shai Hope in Virat and Rohit’s category and expressed excitement to see these three players take the field during the series.
“I don’t think we have anything in comparison to what they have. Our best batsman and greatest player is , who’s done extremely well for himself as well. So, I would put him in that category as well. Three world-class players who’ve got world-class records, and I’m looking forward to seeing all three of them do battle. It’s obviously a keen contest every time I match up against Virat, for example, and I like playing against Rohit because I see them as big players, and I like to get in a contest with big players,” said Holder.
The first ODI match will be played on September 27 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The second clash is scheduled to be played on September 30 at the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
