This is a traditional, nutritious and very delicious dish which many celebrities are now including in their diet. What is Dhecha, and why is it in trend?
Dhecha is a spicy, traditional-style dish prepared using a unique blend of pulses, green vegetables and spices. Historically, it was mainly made in rural areas, however, due to its nutritional value and unique taste, it is now becoming increasingly popular in cities as well. Apart from being healthy, it also helps in weight loss.

- 10-12 green chillies (hot)
- 6-7 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt (as per taste)
- 2 tsp oil

Method of making Dhecha
Step 1: Fry Peppers and Garlic
Heat some oil in a pan (or kadai) and fry the green chillies and garlic lightly, until their rawness goes away.
Step 2: Prepare the Peanuts
Lightly crush the roasted peanuts. This will give a delicious crispness to *thecha*.
Step 3: Pounding Process
Now, put the roasted chillies, garlic, peanuts, cumin seeds and salt in a traditional silbatta (or mixer grinder) and grind them to a coarse paste. Keep in mind that do not grind it too finely, it should remain coarse.

Step 4: Add tempering (optional)
If you want, you can temper this mixture by pouring a little hot oil on it, this enhances its taste even more.
