Vir Das lauds Kangana Ranaut, calls her ‘once-in-a-generation actress’

Mumbai: Comedian and Bollywood actor Vir Das candidly spoke of actress Kangana Ranaut. In a recent interview with Mashable Middle East, Das talked about his experience working with the actress.

“We both spent the movie beating the sh*t out of each other. It’s a very dark, twisted black comedy. She’s a once-in-a-generation actress, so I had a good time working with her,” said Das, reacting to a still of himself and Kangana from Revolver Rani.

The comedian plays the role of Rohan Mehra, a rising Bollywood actor, in the film Revolver Rani. Rani is portrayed by Kangana. The character Rohan falls in love with Rani. When Rohan gets abducted, Rani comes to his rescue. The movie, directed by Sai Kabir Shrivastav, also features Piyush Mishra, Zakir Hussain and Zeishan Quadri in pivotal roles. The film, made on a budget of Rs 22 crore, only collected Rs 13 crore at the box office globally.

Meanwhile, Das was last seen in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos.The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, featured Amir Khan and Imran Khan in guest appearances. Mithila Palkar and Mona Singh played key roles in the film. The film garnered mixed comments from the audience. It only managed to earn Rs 6.6 crore worldwide. Das is now focused on his comedy tour that begins in Chicago on February 27. The tour will conclude in Malaysia on May 23.

Kangana last acted in the film Emergency, directed by herself. Vishak Nair, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, Satish Kaushik and Darshan Pandya were other actors featured in the film. Unfortunately, the movie did not perform well at the box office. It only earned Rs 23.81 at the box office.
