Vikram’s ‘Power House’ title promo teases a shocking double life

Vikram’s next film with director Anand Shankar has finally received its official title. Earlier referred to as ‘Chiyaan 63’, the project is now titled ‘Power House’. The makers revealed the title along with a new promo on Monday, coinciding with Ganesh Chathurthi.

The glimpse introduces Vikram in what initially appears to be a relatively unusual role. He is shown carrying a banana stem through an old-fashioned house and assuring people that he can provide a “100% guarantee” for the weddings he takes care of.

Mekha Rajan, Subash Selvam and Samyuktha Hegde are seen reporting to Vikram after completing their respective responsibilities. The promo then introduces Riya Shibu as Vikram’s niece, with her character shown lost in her own world.

The mood changes dramatically when Urvashi and VTV Ganesh are shown engaging in a light-hearted kitchen sequence. Vikram subsequently heads into a storeroom, where the promo reveals a much darker side of his character.

Two injured men are discovered inside the room, while Vikram calmly cleans up the blood. The sequence hints that the seemingly ordinary caretaker has a dangerous and mysterious alter ego, adding an intriguing layer to the film.

‘Power House’ features music by Santhosh Narayanan. RD Rajasekar is handling cinematography, while Gopi Prasanna and costume designer Poornima Ramaswamy are also part of the technical team.

Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan are producing the film under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner. Riya Shibu and Shammy Thilakan are among the other members of the cast.

The film marks Anand Shankar and Vikram’s reunion after their 2016 sci-fi action thriller ‘Iru Mugan’. The earlier collaboration received a mixed critical response but performed well commercially.

Interestingly, Riya Shibu previously produced Vikram’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2’, which was released in March last year.
