A mobile app of Vikramaditya Vedic Clock has also been created. It has facilities like Vedic time, Panchang, Vikram Samvat calendar, Muhurta alarm and weather information. The special thing is that this app is available in more than 180 languages.
A major effort to bring alive India’s cultural traditions and history on stage will be seen tomorrow on 3rd April. Under Vikramotsav 2026, a grand stage of Samrat Vikramaditya Mahanatya will be staged in Varanasi. This event is being organized at BLW grounds, where the story of justice, bravery and good governance of the great emperor of Ujjain will be presented in front of thousands of spectators.
Mohan Yadav and Yogi Adityanath will attend this grand event as chief guests. The program has been conceptualized by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while it is being organized through Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Institute.
This great play has been written by Padmashree honored scholar Bhagwatilal Rajpurohit. It is produced by Rajesh Kushwaha and directed by Sanjeev Malvi.
Grand staging with more than 200 artists
More than 200 artists are participating in this grand drama. The audience will get to see many grand scenes like elephants, horses, chariots, palanquins, war scenes, dance, light show and fireworks on the stage. The story of Emperor Vikramaditya from his birth to his coronation will be shown in the drama. Along with this, the famous story of Vikram-Betaal and the events related to the rise of Sanatan Dharma will also be presented in a dramatic style.
Performance will be held on three huge stages
To make this great drama more grand, three big stages are being prepared.
- Main stage size approximately 80×62 feet
- Two additional platforms of 42×42 feet on either side
On these platforms, the life of Emperor Vikramaditya and his ideal rule will be shown through episodes related to Simhasana Battisi, Betal Pachisi and Bhavishya Purana. The wisdom of the gems of the emperor’s court—such as the great poet Kalidasa and astrologer Varahamihira—will also be brought to life on stage.
A big center of attraction in the program will be the grand tableau of Mahakal Temple and the divine Bhasma Aarti performed on Shivalinga.
There will be a lively experience with elephant, horse and chariot

will be used.
Along with this, more than 400 lights, 80×32 feet LED screen and grand fireworks will also be done twice. According to the organizers, seating arrangements are being made for 10 to 15 thousand people in the program.
Vikramaditya Vedic Clock will be dedicated to Baba Vishwanath
Another special initiative will be taken during the program. Vikramaditya Vedic Clock will be offered at Kashi Vishwanath Temple by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
This clock is based on Indian chronology and was first installed in Ujjain. It was inaugurated by Narendra Modi in 2024.
This clock calculates time based on sunrise and includes information on many astrological aspects like Indian calendar, Vikram Samvat, planetary positions, moon positions and Bhadra.
