Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi date and auspicious time

According to Drik Panchang, this year the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Vaishakh month will start on April 05 at 11:59 am. This date will end on 06 April 2026 at 2:10 pm. In such a situation, keeping in view the Udaya Tithi, this year the fast of Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi will be observed on 5th April.

Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi Puja Method

  • On the day of Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi, wake up early in the morning and take bath. Then wear clean clothes.
  • After this, take a pledge to fast in front of Lord Ganesha with water in your hand.
  • Then spread a red cloth on a stool in the temple or some quiet corner of the house and place the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha on it.
  • After doing this, bathe Lord Ganesha with Ganga water or pure water.
  • Apply vermillion or red sandalwood tilak to the Lord and offer unbroken rice (akshat).
  • Offer 21 Durvas to him during the worship.
  • Chant the mantra Om Gan Ganpataye Namah.
  • Offer modak or gram flour laddus to Lord Ganesha.
  • Read the story of Sankashti Chaturthi fast by lighting incense sticks.
  • Finally, conclude the puja by performing Aarti of Lord Ganesha.
  • At night, take water in a silver vessel or pot and mix some milk, Akshat and flowers in it. Offer Arghya to them while looking at the moon.
  • After this break the fast.
