Vijaya Ekadashi Puja Method: Ekadashi fast is considered to have special significance in Hindu religion. There are two Ekadashis every month, but Vijaya Ekadashi falling in the Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month is considered very auspicious and fruitful. According to the calendar, Vijaya Ekadashi will be celebrated on Friday, 13 February in the year 2026. There is a religious belief that by worshiping Lord Vishnu as per the rituals and fasting on this day, a person gets victory in every struggle of life and also gets victory over the enemies. - Ekadashi date starts from 12th February 2026, night
- Ekadashi date ends on 13 February 2026, till evening
- Fast as per Udayatithi 13 February 2026 (Friday)
- Time of Parana (breaking of fast) 14 February 2026, between 07:05 am to 09:20 am
Vijaya Ekadashi worship method
Wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. Take a pledge to fast in front of Lord Vishnu. Make an altar and keep seven types of grains on it. Install a gold, silver or copper kalash on it. Place the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on the kalash. Offer them fruits, flowers, incense, lamps and especially Tulsi Dal. Chant the mantra “Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay” during the puja. Read or listen to the fast story of Vijaya Ekadashi and finally perform the aarti of Lord Vishnu. Break your fast on the next day i.e. on Dwadashi by donating food to a Brahmin or the needy as per your capacity.
Pay special attention to these things
- Sacrifice of rice: Cooking and eating rice at home is considered prohibited on the day of Ekadashi.
- Satvikta: Be completely Satvik on this day and do not harbor hatred towards anyone.
- Tulsi Dal: While offering food to Lord Vishnu, add Tulsi leaf, without it the worship is considered incomplete.
Importance of Vijaya Ekadashi
According to mythology, Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram himself observed a fast on Vijaya Ekadashi on the sea shore to conquer Lanka. It is believed that whoever observes this fast with full devotion, not only gets mental peace, but also gets victory over the obstacles and enemies coming in his work.
