Vidarbha Cricket Team: Vidarbha team has won the title of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. This is the first time that she has become the champion of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Vidarbha team is also the current champion of Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup. Vidarbha won the title by defeating Saurashtra in the final of Vijay Hazare Trophy. BCCI increased the prize money 2 years ago
Vidarbha team has become the champion of Vijay Hazare Trophy in the era when BCCI has increased the prize money of all the domestic tournaments. BCCI had done this only 2 years ago i.e. in April 2023. Then BCCI’s then Secretary Jai Shah had informed about the huge increase in the prize money of domestic tournaments. There was also mention of increase in the prize money of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Jai Shah had shared the new prize money
Jay Shah, through his X handle, had then shared the new prize money of all the domestic tournaments, in which in some it was doubled, in some it was tripled or even more. After the new amendment, the prize money of Vijay Hazare Trophy has seen an increase of more than 3 times.
Now more than 3 times the reward for becoming champion
Earlier in Vijay Hazare Trophy, the winning team used to get only Rs 30 lakh as reward. After the amendment in April 2023, BCCI has increased the prize money to Rs 1 crore. Whereas its runner-up used to get Rs 15 lakh earlier, it has also been increased to Rs 50 lakh after April 2023.

Vidarbha got Rs 1 crore for becoming champion
This means that Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 champion Vidarbha has also received prize money of Rs 1 crore. Saurashtra team, which lost to it in the final, has been given a prize money of Rs 50 lakh as runner-up.
