Vihaan Malhotra’s maiden under-19 ton steers India past 350 vs Zimbabwe in Super Six clash

New Delhi: Vihaan Malhotra smashed his maiden under-19 century on Tuesday to take India to 352/8 in the stipulated 50 overs against Zimbabwe in U19 World Cup Super Six clash. Put into bat first, India’s campaign was led by Vihaan who played an unbeaten knock of 109 runs off just 107 balls including seven boundaries.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhigyan Kundu also contributed with brilliant half-centuries to put India in command at the end of the first innings, as they gave a tough target for Zimbabwe in the all-important clash. Coming out to bat at number five, Vihaan played extremely well not rushing up with things and staying at the crease for the longest time.

Sooryavanshi’s brilliant WC run continues

Sooryavanshi was as impactful as in the previous games of the marquee event smashing a blistering 52-run knock off just 30 balls studded with four massive sixes and as many boundaries. Kundu, on the other hand played a 62-ball 61-run knock including five boundaries and one six to contribute in the innings. Khilan Patel also contributed in the innings with 30 runs towards the end.

For Zimbabwe, Tatenda Chimugoro was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets while Panashe Mazai and Simbarashe Mudzengerere contributed with two wickets each but still could not stop the Indian side from scoring runs aplenty. India-born Dhruv Patel also claimed a wicket in the innings.
