VIDEO: TVK candidate’s viral campaign featuring Vijay’s hologram steals the show

Thanjavur: With only a few days remaining until the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, political parties are engaged in intense campaigning. In a novel move, TVK candidates have utilized hologram and AI technologies to feature party leader Vijay in their campaigns, as it is logistically impossible for the actor-turned-politician to personally visit every constituency.

Vijay hologram campaign in Kumbakonam

Vinoth, the TVK candidate contesting in the Kumbakonam constituency of Thanjavur district, conducted his campaign across various parts of Kumbakonam city using hologram and AI technologies to create the illusion that Vijay himself was campaigning on his behalf. The video of this innovative campaign has since gone viral across social media platforms.

Earlier instances of Vijay look-alikes

Prior to this, in the Thiruverumbur constituency of Trichy district, TVK candidate N.S. Viji attracted significant attention by campaigning alongside a Vijay look-alike doll. Similarly, in Kolathur, V.S. Babu—contesting on behalf of the TVK—also campaigned accompanied by a Vijay doll. In several other locations, TVK candidates have been conducting their election campaigns by featuring body doubles who closely resemble Vijay. Campaigns were also conducted using large cutouts of the party leader.

With the April 23 polls approaching, TVK candidates are employing innovative methods to seek support and solicit votes, using technology and creative approaches to overcome the logistical challenge of the party leader’s availability.
