What is the whole matter?
The matter came to light before a bench of Jharkhand High Court, where a petition related to land acquisition and compensation was being considered. During the hearing, the court found that the concerned IAS officer had objected to the amount of compensation fixed by the state government, which was taken by the court seriously. The judge asked the IAS officer, “Who are you objecting to the prescribed compensation of the state? You want a commission, how much commission has you taken yet?”
During the hearing, the judge said strictly during the hearing, “When the state government has fixed the compensation amount, why are you questioning it? Do you have any personal interest? It is public money and it cannot be misused in this way.”
Warning to register FIR if needed
Describing the attitude of the officer as irresponsible, the judge questioned his working style and asked if any commission or unfair benefit has been taken in this matter. During the hearing, the High Court also warned that if the officer did not follow the orders of the court or more irregularities came to light, then contempt action can be initiated against him. Apart from this, the court also indicated that an FIR can also be registered in this case if needed.
