Video: Heavy rains lash Tirupati, Srikakulam, low lying areas flooded

Heavy rain continues to pound Tirumala Tirupati and Chittoor districts since the early hours of Saturday morning, disrupting daily life in much of the temple town.

Low lying areas and bus stands, roads are flooded, with commuters facing difficulties. Korlagunta recorded 87 mm rainfall while 80 mm rainfall was recorded in Pileru village, Annamayya district and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, heavy rain continued in Srikakulam district on Saturday. In Vajrapukotturu mandal of the district, people faced difficulties in commuting and the village of Shivarampuram was waterlogged.

The Nagavali river in Srikakulam has overflowed due to heavy rain and floodwater entered the Boddepalli railway underpass in Sigadam mandal. As a result, an RTC bus going from Srikakulam to Thadivalasa was stranded in floodwaters. The bus was pulled out of the floodwater with the help of a JCB.
