Vice President of India Oath: The country’s new Vice President CP Radhakrishnan will take oath on Friday morning. President Draupadi Murmu will administer him the oath of office and secrecy at the swearing -in ceremony to be held at 10 am at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The ceremony will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan. CP Radhakrishnan, who has also been the first Governor of Maharashtra. He was elected to the post of Vice President on 9 September. He defeated the opposition candidate B Sudarshan Reddy and won the post. The election was conducted after a sudden resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on 21 July.
CP Radhakrishnan became 15th Vice President
CP Radhakrishnan will now be the 15th Vice President of India. In the election held on Tuesday, Rajya Sabha General Secretary and Election Officer PC Modi declared the results, saying that 767 out of a total of 781 MPs voted, that is, about 98.2 percent polling. Radhakrishnan received a total of 452 votes, while opposition candidate B Sudarshan Reddy received 300 votes. After the results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated CP Radhakrishnan for the victory.

He became the Governor of Jharkhand and Maharashtra
CP Radhakrishnan was born in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu and joined the RSS from the age of 17. His political career began in 1998 when he was elected BJP MP from Coimbatore. He reached the Lok Sabha twice in a row during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. Later he was also a Tamil Nadu BJP President and a member of the party’s national executive. Radhakrishnan was the chairman of the Care Board from 2016 to 2020 and also contested the Lok Sabha elections several times. In 2023, he was made the Governor of Jharkhand, where he worked on empowerment of tribal communities. He then became the 24th Governor of Maharashtra in 2024. He is also known for good relations with allies and opposition.
