Reddy said that despite the result in his favor, he would continue his ideology fight with “even more loud”. They said,

Although the result is not in my favor, the big motive for which we all have moved together have not reduced. The fight for ideology will continue even more loudly. I wholeheartedly thank the leaders of the opposition parties who made me their joint candidate. Our democracy is stronger not only by victory, but also with a sense of dialogue, disagreement and participation. As a citizen, I am committed to maintaining the ideals of equality, brotherhood and freedom. They add us together. I wish that our Constitution remains the guide of our national life. I am the newly elected Vice President C.P. I wish Radhakrishnan for his tenure.

CP Radhakrishnan received 452 first preference votes

A total of 98.20 percent polling was recorded in the Vice Presidential election, with 767 MPs out of 788. NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan got 452 first preference votes, while India alliance candidate Justice B.K. Sudarshan Reddy got 300 first preference votes. Fifteen votes were considered illegal.

He has been elected Vice President of India … Justice Sudarshan Reddy, Vice Presidential candidate of the Opposition, got 300 first preference votes,” Rajya Sabha General Secretary P.C. Modi said in his press conference.

In the Vice Presidential election, 13 MPs avoided voting. The list includes seven MPs of Biju Janata Dal, four of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, one MP of the Shiromani Akali Dal and an independent MP.
