CM Bhupendra Patel described the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference as the new platform for the state’s industrial capacity, MSME development and global investment. Gujarat aims at $ 3.5 trillion by 2047 with regional aspiration-western ambition theme.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) to be held under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will provide a new identity to the state’s industrial capacity, economic development and cultural heritage. The Chief Minister made the presidential address at a road show and meeting held with industrialists and industrial organizations in New Delhi.
Vibrant Gujarat: Country’s growth engine
The Chief Minister said that the confluence of trade-trades, commerce-culture and industry-nine-nine is Vibrant Gujarat. In 2003, Prime Minister Modi’s thinking started the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit. In two decades, this summit was successful in making Gujarat the country’s most industrialized and urbanized state. Now Gujarat has become a “Most Preferred Destination” for investors.
Regional conference for regional development
The Chief Minister said that now Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference is being started to increase the pace of development at the regional level. Sector-special investment in North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Central Gujarat will be promoted. These conferences will give MSME and local industries a big opportunity. Trade shows, exhibitions and sector-special seminars will provide a platform to present regional products nationally and internationally.
Special Industrial Park and Mega Projects
The Chief Minister informed that many future ready projects and special industrial parks are being built in the state:
- PM Mitra Park, Bulk Drug Park, Medical Device Park, Agro Food Park
- Gift City, Dholera Special Investment Region, Greenfield Ports, Semin, Green Energy
These projects will strengthen the economy of Gujarat and will determine the direction of the next development phase of the state.
Territorial aspiration-variant ambition
The Chief Minister said that the theme of the event is “regional aspiration-western ambition”. This will fulfill the resolve of “Wocal for Local” and “Local for Global”. The goal is to reach the state’s economy to 3.5 trillion dollars under developed Gujarat @2047. CM Bhupendra Patel invited the industry for the first regional conference to be held in North Gujarat on 9-10 October and other VGRC to be held after that.
Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi’s statement
Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi said that this summit, which started in 2003, has now become a strong platform for policy, partnership and investment. Gujarat continues to top the Ease of Doing Business and Business Reform Action Plan. Single Window Clearance Act-2017 and Investors Facilitation Portal are one-stop solution for investors.
Gujarat leads in emerging sectors
Gujarat has attracted investment in sectors such as semiconductor, renewable energy, green hydrogen, defense and aerospace. VGRC will intensify this progress and become a “Gujarat model” of balanced development.
DPIIT Secretary appreciated
Amardeep Singh Bhatia, DPIT Secretary of the Government of India, appreciated the VGRC initiative. He said that this will provide opportunity to new industry and startups in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This initiative will also become a pioneer for other states.

On this occasion, Secretary General of Industry Department Mamta Verma, Industry Commissioner P. Swaroop, Additional Chief Secretary of CM M.K. Das, FICCI President Harshvardhan Aggarwal, Hester Biochenese CEO Rajiv Gandhi along with several industrialists and officials were present.
