VersaByte and Fusion join hands to strengthen India’s indigenous defense system

Fusion Technologies has entered into a partnership in the defense power electronics sector by investing in Versabyte Data Systems. Its goal is to increase India’s defense technological self-reliance and develop advanced power solutions.

Bengaluru. Sanlayan Technologies, a vertically integrated defense electronics company, announced a strategic investment in Versabyte Data Systems, a defense power electronics market leader. This collaboration is an important step in accelerating India’s journey towards technological self-reliance in the defense and aerospace sector.

Founded in 1987 by PS Reddy, VersaByte has OEM status for power electronics and serves key customers such as HAL, BEL, BDL, DRDO, Armed Forces and leading private defense OEMs. VersaByte has a successful track record of providing cutting-edge solutions in land, air, naval, radar and missile systems.

Heartbeat of Power System Modern Defense Equipment

Rahul Vamshidhar, co-founder and CBO of Sanlayan, said, “Power systems are the heartbeat of modern defense equipment. Without it, even the most advanced technology is nothing more than in-active hardware. Yet, much of this market is dependent on imports.” Synonymous with quality and reliability, VersaByte is all set to lead India’s import substitution efforts. This partnership goes beyond trade and is a step towards boosting India’s defense capabilities.

This partnership will help in increasing defense capabilities

This partnership will help Fusion enhance its defense capabilities with VersaByte’s high reliability power solutions. Earlier, Fusion had acquired 25-year-old embedded systems company Dexel Electronics and also created a dedicated 70-member in-house research and development team on radar and electronic warfare technologies. These steps will enable the group to provide complete electronics solutions across the defense value chain.

Will launch next generation power solutions

PS Reddy, Founder and Managing Director, VersaByte, said, “VersaByte’s heritage lies in strongly enabling India’s defense backbone for decades. The partnership with Fusion provides us with a clear and ambitious roadmap for the next 5 years. “Will launch the next generation of high-reliability power solutions for communications and space platforms.” He further added, “With expertise in modular power supplies ranging from 1W to 200kW, we are now focused on expanding to 500kW for many emerging areas such as long range radar, Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) and defense space applications.”
