Worship method
Bathing and resolve in the morning- Take a bath in the morning and take a pledge to fast. Offer water in the memory of ancestors.
Purification of the house- Sprinkle Ganga water and sanctify the place of worship.

- During Pradosh period, make Shivling bathe with water, milk and Panchamrit.
- Offer Belpatra, Dhatura, Aak Flower, Akshat and sandalwood.
- Om Namah Shivaya Mantra Chant at least 108 times.
- Worship of Mata Parvati- Offer red flowers, vermilion and makeup materials.
- Deepdan- Light a lamp of sesame or ghee in front of Shivling.
- Listening/lesson of Vrat Katha- Must listen to Venus Pradosh Vrat Katha.
- Pitra Tarpan- Offer water, sesame and food to the ancestors.
- Food-Prasad- Fasting the fast by giving food to a Brahmin or needy.
