New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to rope in former Indian bowler Venkatesh Prasad as their bowling coach for the 2026 season. As per multiple reports on social media handle X on Saturday, it is being mentioned that Prasad is in the fray to become the bowling coach of the franchise for the 19th edition of the league.
Former Indian player Munaf Patel was the bowling coach for the Capitals in the 2025 edition of the cash-rich league and under his guidance, the franchise failed to get through to the playoffs even after witnessing a strong start. Delhi Capitals finished at the fifth spot in the standings despite four consecutive wins in the 18th edition of the league.

Prasad contesting for KSCA elections
Meanwhile, Prasad, who has been in the news lately because of him being a strong contestant in the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) elections which are due for December 7, is expected to strengthen the bowling department of the Capitals that is still searching for their maiden IPL title. Although the Capitals are yet to confirm this officially but the rumours surrounding the move seem to be true.
While the franchise had a great start in the edition with brilliant performances leading to multiple victories, they skittled in the latter half of the season which majorly had issues to do with their poor batting tactics. The seasoned KL Rahul emerged as the top-scorer for the side but he alone failed to move the the team forward after lack of support from key players.
