Varying Weather Across India: Monsoon Withdraws, Heavy Rains in Some States

New Delhi: The weather is currently experiencing varying patterns in different parts of the country. In some places, intense sunshine and humid heat are troubling people, while in others, heavy rains have disrupted normal life.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued various warnings and forecasts for several states.

Humid Heat in Delhi-NCR

People in Delhi and the NCR region are currently experiencing humid heat. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry for the next 2-3 days, with temperatures hovering between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.

Following the departure of the monsoon, the effects of intense sunshine and heat are being felt more strongly in Delhi. Therefore, people need to be cautious when venturing outside.

Heavy Rain Warning in Mumbai

Heavy rain is expected to hit Mumbai and surrounding areas once again. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for “very heavy rainfall” between September 28 and 30. Rains have been intensifying in Mumbai and its suburbs since the evening of September 27, and this torrential downpour is expected to disrupt life for the next three days. Waterlogging, traffic jams, and delays in local train services are expected.

Mixed weather across India due to monsoonThe monsoon departs from Rajasthan

The southwest monsoon has completely withdrawn from Rajasthan. It withdrew from all parts of the state on September 26. However, light to moderate rainfall is expected in eastern and southeastern areas and areas like the Kota and Udaipur divisions between September 27 and October 3. However, most areas of western Rajasthan will remain dry.

Red alert in Odisha, heavy rain continues

Heavy rain is occurring in several districts of Odisha due to the formation of a new low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert, especially for coastal and southern areas. This depression is expected to intensify over the next 24 hours and extend to the Andhra Pradesh border. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue in most districts of the state for the next three days, potentially leading to flood-like conditions.

Monsoon Withdraws from Himachal Pradesh

The southwest monsoon also withdrew completely from Himachal Pradesh on September 26. The monsoon arrived in the state on June 20, and by then, it had already withdrawn from eight of the 12 districts. Monsoon withdrawal has also been confirmed in Kullu, Shimla, and parts of Lahaul-Spiti. This is considered a normal return in the last 11 years.

The weather is rapidly changing in different parts of the country. While the monsoon has already withdrawn from some states, heavy rainfall warnings are in place in others. It is important for people to remain vigilant in this changing weather, especially in areas experiencing heavy rain or humid heat. One can remain safe only by following the warnings of the Meteorological Department.
