Varun Dhawan recently appeared on Koffee With Karan 9 as a guest with his Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar co-star Janhvi Kapoor. While interacting with Karan Johar, Varun reacted to his viral smile memes on social media, especially after Border 2. The Student Of The Year star also recalled how he flexed about his success on Koffee With Karan 6 while speaking about the comparison with Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. He regretted it and confessed that his statement backfired on him. For the unversed, Varun delivered a series of flops after his appearance on the sixth season of KWK.
Varun Dhawan on his smile meme
During a conversation, Karan Johar asked about him being a national meme topic for his smile. The Badlapur star said, “You started that smile meme. It started many years later after Student Of The Year. It is a screengrab from the film’s song, Ishq Wala Love.”
Varun also realised after facing failures that one shouldn’t flex about their success a lot. Karan recalled how he had said about delivering 8 consecutive hits when asked about his comparison with and Ranveer Singh’s careers.
The actor clarified that he had delivered 11 hits, but he doesn’t like to flex about it again. While speaking about the same, Varun Dhawan said, “Over the years, I realised after many years working in the industry, it is the only flex that one should do with their work. Like, I feel many years back, I came here and flexed about how many hits I had, and eventually, it jinxed me.”

He further mentioned that he wants to be like . The handsome hunk said, “I don’t want to flex or anything in that matter because I just feel that when you are having success or something becomes success, I think it is something better to be like Ajay Devgn.”
While explaining about the same, the Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai star said, “He doesn’t react. He is that one guy I have seen through success or through failure; he looks at you the same way. It’s amazing.”
