Lucknow: A Vande Bharat train carrying RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was stoned near Kauda village in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The incident took place around 3:20 pm when the train was heading towards Delhi. According to railway sources, a windowpane of the train cracked after stones were hurled at it. No injuries were reported.
Circle Officer (City) Ankit Mishra said preliminary information suggests that children aged between 8 and 13 were playing cricket near the railway tracks and may have thrown stones at the passing train.
Police have launched an inquiry into the matter. “Legal action is being taken,” Mishra said, adding that further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances behind the incident.
