According to the Panchang, Ashwin Purnima Tithi will start from October 06, Monday afternoon at 12:24, which will be till 07 October, Tuesday morning till 09:17. In this way, on both 6th and 7th October, the full moon day of Ashwin month is becoming a coincidence. According to Pt. Praveen Dwivedi, Jyotishacharya of Ujjain, the fast will be observed on this day after the full moon date on the night of October 6, while the festival of Valmiki Jayanti will be celebrated on its day i.e. October 7, Tuesday.

Who was Maharishi Valmiki?

Seeing this, Ratnakar got disinterest in his mind and he became ascetic. One day Brahmadev himself saw Maharishi Valmiki and asked him to write a book on the character of Lord Shri Ram. Maharishi Valmiki did the same and he was called Adi Kavi.
When Lord Shri Ram abandoned Mother Sita, Maharishi Valmiki gave her a place to stay in his ashram. Luv-Kush was also born here. Maharishi Valmiki also gave Luv-Kush knowledge of scriptures and weapons.
