Saint Valentine was a Christian priest during the Roman Empire in the third century. At that time, Emperor Claudius II was ruling Rome. There were continuous wars going on there. Due to this thinking, the emperor banned marriages in entire Rome.
This order of the emperor made the common people of Rome sad. A mountain of sorrow fell upon all the men and women in love. Saint Valentine did not find this decision of the emperor right. He did not remain silent and secretly kept marrying the couples as per Christian tradition. He believed that love is not a crime but a gift from God. After some time, the emperor got the news of this work of Saint Valentine.
