Vaibhav Suryavanshi, U19 World Cup: Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit 30 sixes and scored 439 runs in the Under-19 World Cup. He became the batsman who hit the most sixes. Along with that, his batting also had the highest strike rate in the tournament. Along with all these records, Vaibhav also made the Indian record of scoring most runs in Under 19 ODI. After making all these records, the world has started admiring the talent of 14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. But his father Sanjeev Suryavanshi feels that this will not suffice. He does not consider his son Vaibhav as a big cricketer yet.
Nothing big until test cricket is played
While talking to TV9 Hindi, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s father Sanjeev Suryavanshi told that his son has not yet become a big cricketer. He still has a lot to achieve to become great. The father told that in his view, his son being a big cricketer means his playing Test cricket. According to father Sanjeev Suryavanshi, unless Vaibhav plays Test cricket, he cannot become a big cricketer.
What did father say about Vaibhav playing in India’s senior team?
Regarding Vaibhav Suryavanshi, his father further said that Vaibhav is still in the process of becoming a big player. Now he has to go far. When we asked Sanjeev Suryavanshi how soon he sees Vaibhav playing for India, he replied that his job now is just to keep working hard and prove himself by seizing the opportunities that come his way. It is in his hands. As far as playing India is concerned, the decision will be taken by BCCI.
After winning the U19 World Cup, Vaibhav showed the trophy to his father.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an important role in making Team India the champion by playing an inning of 175 runs in 80 balls in the final of the Under-19 World Cup. His father is very happy with his son’s success in India’s victory. Apart from becoming the player of the match in the final, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was also the player of the tournament. Vaibhav’s father told TV9 that after winning the final, he made a video call and showed the trophy.
