Dharli village of Uttarkashi is very special in a religious point of view. There are also many ancient temples here. One of these is Kalpa Kedar Temple. It is believed that this temple was founded by the Pandavas.
Where is Kalpa Kedar Temple?
Although there are many famous temples in Dharali village of Uttakashi, but among all these, the Kalpa Kedar temple is the highest. Gangotri is just 20 km from here. It is said that there was once a group of 240 ancient temples in Dharali which were destroyed over time. Presently, the remains of these temples appear here. Now there are only a few ancient temples remaining here. Of these, Kalpa Kedar Temple is also one.

Why is Kedar Temple of Dharali special?
It is said about the Kalpa Kedar temple that the Shivling located here was founded by the Pandavas when he came to Kedarnath. The temple currently visible here is also about 1500 years old. The most important thing is that the Shivling here is inside a 7 feet tank. It has to go under water for its darshan. Many other things make this temple mysterious.
Kheer Ganga River flows here
The river which has flooded due to cloudburst in Dharali, its name is Kheer Ganga. This river also has religious significance. Due to water from milk, this river is named Kheer Ganga. There is an ancient cave on the route of Kheerganga River. It is said that Kartikeya, son of Lord Shiva, did penance at this place. Therefore, the religious belief of this place is very high.
