Kanchi Dham is a popular pilgrimage destination near Nainital

Kainchi Dham, located near Bhowali in Nainital district, is a popular pilgrimage destination, attracting thousands of devotees every year. The route from Almora to Bhowali is narrow and winding, often posing challenges for drivers unfamiliar with the terrain.

Police have registered the case

Relatives of the victims expressed grief over the sudden tragedy. The police have registered the case and initiated further investigation into the cause of the accident.

The accident has once again raised concerns about road safety on Uttarakhand’s hilly highways, where sharp turns, steep slopes, and poor visibility often lead to mishaps. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially during the winter season when roads become slippery.
