Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat participated in the ongoing Uttarakhand Mahotsav in Lucknow on Sunday evening. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that in times of adversity, only folk art and folk songs preserve history. Many glorious moments were not recorded by foreign historians, but folk traditions keep them alive.
Chief Minister’s emphasis on preservation of folk culture
Chief Minister Yogi called for the preservation of folk art and culture in the 10-day ‘Uttarakhand Mahotsav-2025’. He said that if there were no such festivals, many people would be away from their culture in today’s hustle and bustle. Folk songs, folk art and folk culture maintain our identity.
Importance of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and its rivers
He said that rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Saryu and Sharda originating from Uttarakhand make the land of Uttar Pradesh fertile. The youth of Uttarakhand dedicate their youth for the security of the country, and this state gives spiritual and cultural energy to the country.
Festival connecting folk art and national culture
Yogi Adityanath said that such programs keep folk art and culture alive. This festival is also a beautiful coordination of the cultures of Awadh and Uttarakhand. Badri Vishal and Char Dham of Uttarakhand along with Shri Ram of Awadh give new heights to the program.
Celebrities of Uttarakhand remembered
The Chief Minister said that the state of Uttarakhand was formed on 9 November 2000 under the leadership of revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also remembered the contribution of the first Chief Minister of UP, Pandit Govind Vallabh Pant. Also paid tribute to great personalities like Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, Narayan Dutt Tiwari and Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali.
