Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is giving new direction to good governance with AI based technologies. Trinetra 2.0, AI powered prison monitoring and advanced forensic lab have strengthened the law and order situation. Know how a new example of digital good governance is being established in the state.

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is creating a model of good governance by linking the administrative system with new age technology, whose example is fast becoming a topic of discussion in the country. Artificial Intelligence (AI), data monitoring and smart surveillance systems are being incorporated in every area of law and order, investigation system and prison security. This rapid absorption of technology in the government machinery has taken the speed of crime control and justice process to a new level.

During the inauguration of the Advanced Regional Forensic Science Laboratory in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had clearly said that “Now there will be no way for criminals to escape in the state. Scientific forensic investigation will uncover the links of the crime within minutes.” The objective behind this policy of the government is clear, to bring the criminals to justice on the basis of precise technology and quick action.

Trinetra 2.0: The most modern platform for digital identification of criminals

To make the state’s policing system smarter, faster and more effective, the government has developed an advanced digital database called Trinetra 2.0. It is an AI enhanced system in which crime data from across the state is digitally preserved.

State-of-the-art technologies like facial recognition, voice identification and text-based queries provide quick assistance to the police in identifying suspects. This has not only speeded up the investigation process but has also seen a significant increase in the case solving rate.

Under Operation Trinetra, which started in 2023, CCTVs were installed on a large scale with the help of civil organizations at sensitive places like banks, schools, colleges, markets, religious places and highways. By the beginning of 2025, 11,07,782 CCTV cameras had been installed in the entire state. The result of this technical strength is that with the help of Trinetra system, 5,718 serious crimes (robbery, robbery and other categories) have been successfully exposed so far.

Use of AI based video analytics in prison security

Yogi government is also equipping jail security with modern technology. An AI-based video analytics platform has been installed in the prisons of the state, which keeps real-time monitoring of the activities of the prisoners. Any suspicious activity, unusual movement or security risk is immediately identified, thereby facilitating the jail administration to take immediate action.

Senior officers can also now directly view the situation of any jail through real-time monitoring system and issue necessary instructions immediately. Advanced Forensic Science Lab: Historic improvement in investigative capacity. The operation of the Advanced Forensic Science Lab located in Gorakhpur has given a new direction to the scientific capacity of the investigating agencies. This lab is equipped with state-of-the-art machines and specially trained experts. Due to modern forensic technology, time is being taken to connect the links of crime and evidence is becoming stronger.

The government believes that investigation done scientifically plays a decisive role in providing justice, hence emphasis is being laid on further expanding the forensic structure of the state.

Uttar Pradesh moving towards technology-driven good governance

All these initiatives, Trinetra 2.0, AI monitoring system and advanced forensic technology have the same goal: establishment of transparent, secure and technology-based good governance in Uttar Pradesh.

Under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the state administration is moving towards such a working style where it is impossible for criminals to escape from the law and security is ensured for the common citizen. This new AI-driven model is not only improving the law and order system of the state, but is also making UP a national example of technology-based administrative reforms.
