The startup ecosystem of Uttar Pradesh is strengthening rapidly under the leadership of Yogi government. The number of startups recognized under Start in UP has reached 3011, while the state’s participation in Startup India is also continuously increasing.

Lucknow. The startup ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh is continuously expanding under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Due to the favorable environment created in the state, startup activities have increased. Under the government’s Start in UP initiative, the number of recognized startups has now crossed the 3000 mark. The clear objective of the Yogi government is that the youth of the state should not become job seekers but job providers, and this thinking now seems to be coming true on the ground.

3011 startups got recognition under Start in UP

According to the latest data, the number of startups recognized under Start in UP in Uttar Pradesh has increased to 3011. In December 2025 this number was 2905. That means, 106 new startups have been recognized in a short time. This growth reflects the increasing entrepreneurial confidence in the state and trust in government policies.

Uttar Pradesh’s strong position in Startup India also

The position of the state is also continuously strengthening under the Startup India Scheme of the Central Government. In December 2025, the number of startups recognized by Startup India in Uttar Pradesh was 18,568, which has now increased to 19,042. During this period, 474 new startups have been recognized at the national level. These figures show that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a major startup hub of the country.

Confidence of youth increased due to clear policy and simple process

During the tenure of Yogi government, a clear, stable and visionary policy has been adopted regarding startups. Through the Start in UP policy, the government has provided facilities like funding support, mentorship, incubation and technical assistance. Along with this, the process of application and recognition has been made simple and transparent, so that more and more youth can move towards entrepreneurship. The objective of the government is to motivate the youth for self-employment and to provide a conducive environment to give commercial shape to their innovations.

New startups emerging even from small cities and districts

According to IT expert Pradeep Yadav, the positive impact of improvement in law and order in the state, focus on ease of doing business and expansion of digital governance is clearly visible on the startup sector. Now startups are not limited to big cities only, but new enterprises are emerging from small towns and districts as well. This is increasing employment generation at the local level and strengthening the regional economy.
