Uttar Pradesh Budget 2026: The budget for 2026-27 has arrived in Uttar Pradesh. This budget of Yogi government has been presented keeping in mind the 2047 mission. This time the budget has been increased especially by giving priority to the health sector.
The Yogi government has once again made its priority clear towards strengthening health services in the budget for the year 2026-27. Yogi government has allocated a huge amount of Rs 37,956 crore for medical, health and family welfare, which is about 15 percent more than the year 2025-26. This budget will not only strengthen health services, but will also give new impetus to public welfare schemes like maternal-child health, vaccination, mental health, disease control and Ayushman Bharat.
Two medical teams are deployed in every block for medical examination of children.
Janani Shishu Suraksha Program is effectively implemented in the state. The main objective of this scheme is to provide guaranteed cashless delivery services to pregnant women coming for delivery, so that poor and needy women can get the facility of safe delivery. Reducing maternal and child mortality is one of the top priorities of the Yogi government. A provision has been made in the budget to make it more effective. Under the National Child Health Programme, two medical teams have been deployed in each block of the state. These teams are visiting Anganwadi centers and schools and conducting regular health checkups of children. Due to this, timely identification of congenital diseases, malnutrition and other health problems is possible. The government’s aim is that children can get better treatment at an early stage, so that their future is safe and healthy. Uttar Pradesh has also made significant progress in the field of vaccination. Under the Pulse Polio campaign being run from December 8, 2024 in all the districts of the state, till now 3 crore 28 lakh 44 thousand 929 children have been administered polio vaccine. Along with this, vaccination program is being conducted regularly in 42 sensitive districts of the state to protect children from Japanese Encephalitis. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi, special monitoring and health camps are also being organized in Purvanchal and Terai areas.
Yogi government will increase awareness about mental health
With the aim of providing relief to poor and middle class families from expensive treatment, Ayushman Bharat-Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana has been further strengthened in the budget. Under the scheme, 49.22 lakh beneficiary families have been listed in the state. A provision of Rs 500 crore has been made for effective implementation of the scheme. Yogi government has also taken concrete steps regarding mental health. District Mental Health Program is being run under the National Mental Health Program in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Through this, facilities for identification, counseling and treatment of mental diseases are being made available at the district level. Due to this, awareness about mental health is increasing in the society and patients are getting timely help. Provision has been made in the budget to make it more effective. The Integrated Disease Surveillance Portal has also been strengthened for monitoring infectious diseases. On this portal, 16 infectious diseases, 6 vaccine preventable diseases and Covid-19 are being regularly reported by government and private sector medical units at the district level. This makes it possible to immediately control any possible epidemic or disease outbreak.
Rs 8,641 crore allocated to National Rural Health Mission
A provision of about Rs 8,641 crore has been made for the National Rural Health Mission for the expansion of rural health services. At the same time, a provision of Rs 2,000 crore has been proposed for Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission. These provisions will improve both access and quality of health services in rural and remote areas.
