Utpanna ekadashi vrat old time: Ekadashi date is considered very auspicious and beneficial, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Utpanna Ekadashi is very special among all the Ekadashis because on this day Ekadashi Mata was born from the body of Lord Vishnu. For this reason, observing Ekadashi fast is started from Utpanna Ekadashi. This fast is observed every year on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month, which is on 15 November 2025. When will Utpanna Ekadashi fast end?
Ekadashi fast is broken the next day on Dwadashi tithi. In such a situation, according to the Panchang, Utpanna Ekadashi fast will be broken on 16 November 2025 between 1:10 pm to 3:16 pm.

What should be eaten to break the Ekadashi fast?
Ekadashi fast should be broken with satvik food which can include fruits, milk products (like curd, cheese), dry fruits and basil leaves. At the time of breaking the Ekadashi fast, first offer food to God and then eat Tulsi Dal, only after that eat other satvik food. While breaking Ekadashi fast, avoid Tamasic and forbidden things like onion, garlic, lentils, brinjal and radish.
Should one eat rice during Parana of Ekadashi or not?
You can eat rice on the day of Parana (breaking of fast) of Ekadashi. Eating rice on the day of Dwadashi is also considered auspicious, because it is considered favorite of Lord Vishnu. However, eating rice is prohibited on the day of Ekadashi, hence the fast should be broken on Dwadashi date only and not on Ekadashi.
